Mission, Vision, & Purpose
Mission
We work to build homegrown leadership, expand access and opportunity, and promote an equitable society by engaging and organizing the leadership of young people

Vision
Our vision is a future where Black and Brown young people lead the transformation of their communities, using their voices, experiences, and collective power to create just, safe, and thriving schools and neighborhoods.

Purpose
Our Purpose is to educate and ignite young Black and Brown people to organize for change in their own communities.

Core Values
-
LIT is an org dedicated to taking stances and amplifying voices aligned with our vision/values. Through collective action and organizing, we will build leaders equipped to combat all systems of oppression; and we recognize that an intersectional, anti-capitalist, and anti-colonialist framework is necessary for liberation
-
We commit to consistently and authentically re-evaluating the ways in which our capacity to uphold these frameworks is constrained by the NPIC. We recognize that this is necessary to fulfill our mission of empowering Black and Brown youth to dismantle oppressive systems and create the world we want to live in
